Arthur Young is the Portfolio Manager and a Managing Partner of Tensile Capital Management, a firm he co-founded in 2012. He oversees the public equity investing process – focusing on sourcing, researching, and executing public investments.
Prior to founding Tensile, Mr. Young was a Managing Partner, member of the Investment and Management Committees and the Head of Public Equity investing at Blum Capital. He also served on the board of JDA Software Inc. until its sale to Red Prairie. Arthur started his investment career at Fir Tree Partners and subsequently was an investment partner at Blavin & Company. He previously worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, and practiced commercial and securities litigation at Greenberg Traurig, LLP.
Mr. Young earned a B.A. in Economics with Honors from Johns Hopkins University and a J.D. degree from Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California at Berkeley.
