Chad Astmann is a partner in Heidrick & Struggles’ New York office and Head of the Asset Management Practice in North America, responsible for managing the regional team and conducting global engagements. Chad is also a member of the global Financial Services Practice and works with clients in the traditional asset management, private equity, alternative and wealth management sectors.
Chad has more than fifteen years of investment management experience in executive search and leadership advisory. He specializes in working with clients to develop and improve their talent management strategy, partnering with clients to accelerate their strategic growth plans. He has successfully completed numerous search assignments for senior leaders in the areas of investments, distribution, management, and infrastructure. He has also conducted numerous business building engagements through team liftouts and acquisition reviews.
Before joining Heidrick & Struggles, Chad was a search consultant at a multinational recruitment firm, focused on conducting financial services searches for leading global investment management firms. Prior to his career in search, Chad was an associate with Merrill Lynch within the equity capital markets group.
Chad earned a Master’s degree from New York University in Industrial/Organizational Development, where he completed a thesis on cross-border executive leadership selection, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Ithaca College.
He currently services on the Friends of Larchmont Library Board and the NYU Psychology Graduate School Advisory Board.
