Pat Durbin is a partner with PwC’s Trust Solutions practice, based out of Florham Park, New Jersey. He has more than 31 years of experience. He has expertise in financial reporting and extensive experience serving board, C-suite, and senior management-level executives across a variety of industries and geographies both in the US and internationally.
Pat leads a team of 40 partners and directors in PwC’s National Accounting & SEC Reporting Group, with a focus on the technology, media, telecommunications, pharmaceutical, life sciences and health services sectors as well as financial reporting of revenue, operations, and taxes. Pat’s team is responsible for assisting our engagement teams and clients in resolving complex technical accounting and SEC reporting matters, developing the firm’s interpretive guidance in the relevant technical domains, and issuing thought leadership to our practice on emerging financial reporting issues. In this role, he frequently interacts with the board and staff of the FASB, the staff of the office of the chief accountant at the SEC, and other technical experts in the profession.
Pat led the firm’s Industrial Products Assurance practice in the New York metro region and has served as the lead audit engagement partner on several SEC-registered audit clients. Earlier in his career, he completed a fellowship at the Financial Accounting Standards Board and spent two years on an international assignment in London as part of the firm’s Global Capital Markets practice. Additionally, he has experience combining excellent leadership as well as oral and written communication skills with a passion for continuing to enhance the impact of, and broader understanding of the role of, the independent auditor in the capital markets’ financial reporting supply chain.
Pat Currently chairs the external advisory board for the accounting department at his alma mater, Penn State.
