Veterans Roundtable) is a special interest group dedicated to supporting prior military service members through professional networking and finance education. Our mission is to establish the foundations from which military veteran members may better achieve leading positions in the financial world. By being active supporters and participants in other veteran organizations\, we are able leverage their networks\, and broaden the reach of CFA Society New York and CFA Institute. Why have such a group? The ethical standards promoted throughout military services worldwide align with Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Practice of the CFA Institute. \nPart of what attracts future generations of leaders to the military services is robust support groups that empower access the fullest range of post-military career options\, including the highest levels of finance. SUMMARY:Intro to Python for Business and Finance
DESCRIPTION:OverviewPython is a high-level\, object-oriented programming language that is used in a variety of projects ranging from data science and machine learning to backend web development. In fact\, it is one of the most in-demand programming languages today. \nLearning Python is a great entry point into the technical world as the syntax is much easier to learn compared to other programming languages. Because of its syntax simplicity\, Python is a common first programming language for business and finance individuals. \nBut\, do not be misinformed though! Just because Python has easier syntax does not make it any less powerful compared to other languages. Many of the world’s tech majors use Python as part of their technical ecosystems. \nThis one-day\, hands-on introductory course teaches students foundational Python concepts and how to use Python’s popular libraries to complete various technical tasks. Students are presented with Python coding challenges throughout the day to test their understanding of the material. The course culminates with a challenging in-class coding project where students apply concepts taught in the course to create a game. \nThis is Cognitir’s standard one-day Intro to Python course (7 hours of instruction) and may be broken up into several days. \nMember$419if registered by 09/22Non-Member$519if registered by 09/22Course Curriculum×Course Curriculum\n\nIntroduction\n\nWhat is Python?\nUse cases\nPython vs. other popular languages\n\n\nPython Development Environments\n\nBrief tour of Jupyter Notebook\, Sublime Text Editor\, and other IDEs\n\n\nData Structure Fundamentals\n\nNumbers\nVariables\nStrings\nPrint formatting\nLists\nTuples\nDictionaries\nSets\nBooleans\n\n\nComparison Operators and Conditionals\n\nIf\, elif\, and else statements\n\n\nLoops\n\nFor loops\nWhile loops\n\n\nOther Useful Operators\n\nRange\nZip\nIn\nMin & max\nInput\n\n\nImporting Libraries\n\nOverview of common libraries\n\n\nBuilt-in Methods\n\nList methods\nString methods\nDictionary methods\n\n\nDebugging Code\n\nPrinting variables\nPylint\nUnittest\n\n\nIn-class Project\nWrap-Up and Summary\n\nCloseCourse Developers×Course Developers\nDavid Haber \nDavid has led programming workshops at the undergraduate and graduate levels\, at blue chip companies\, and world renowned management consulting firms. \nDavid has experience working with both startups and large corporations. SUMMARY:Intro to Data Visualization and Business Analytics with Microsoft Power BI - Cognitir
DESCRIPTION:There are no prerequisites for this course\, though some may find it helpful to have experience with Microsoft Excel and Power Query\, as Power BI uses similar formulas and frameworks. \nOverviewStrong data culture is a sine qua non for effective organizations in the digital age\, and proprietary data insights are increasingly becoming the most important asset such organizations can accrue. Additionally\, firms that are invested in crafting a compelling\, authentic narrative from their data are uniquely positioned to establish enduring brands\, often thriving in the dynamic markets and uncertain times we find ourselves in. When it comes to communicating such insights in service of a great mission or brand\, there are few things that can beat a striking data visualization. \nOver the course of a single day\, we invite participants to explore an exciting and extensible data visualization framework (Microsoft Power BI) that allows finance and business professionals to create reports and dashboards on top of their existing data products. Participants will learn how to gather relevant data from sample spreadsheets\, overcome common data preparation obstacles\, and build an interactive dashboard they can publish to the web. \nAt the conclusion of the workshop\, participants will have developed their own web dashboard that they can readily adapt to their own professional contexts\, and which they can then use to obtain better insights into their own work and/or share it with their co-workers. \nAdditional DetailsWho Is This ForThis course is relevant for professionals who want to learn how to use the world’s leading data analytics and business intelligence software to turn data into strategic assets. \nWhat This Course Offers\nOverview of Business Analytics and Data Visualization\nProblem Solving Strategies\nEngaging Training Environment\nMicrosoft Power BI Fundamentals\nHands-On Experience\nSupport Beyond the Classroom
