Mr. Ferguson is the former Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors of the U.S. Federal Reserve System. He represented the Federal Reserve on several international policy groups and served on key Federal Reserve System committees, including Payment System Oversight, Reserve Bank Operations, and Supervision and Regulation. As the only Governor in Washington, D.C. on 9/11, he led the Fed’s initial response to the terrorist attacks, taking actions that kept the U.S. financial system functioning while reassuring the global financial community that the U.S. economy would not be paralyzed.

Irving Kahn Lifetime Achievement Award

Lifetime achievement is awarded to a member of the investment profession who has made distinctive contributions to the industry and whose exemplary achievement, excellence of practice, and true leadership have elevated the integrity and competence of the profession. This award was established in 2011 to honor the enduring contributions of Irving Kahn, one of the founders of CFA Society New York (then, CFANY) and the award’s inaugural recipient.

Avis and Bruce Richards, announced the launch of the “Veterans’ Education $1 Million Matching Challenge” on November 11th, 2015 in an effort to supplement the GI Bill and help fund higher education for returning veterans.

In addition to the $1 million pledge for the Veterans’ Education Challenge, the Richards also donated $1 million to the University of Maryland to provide scholarships for veterans at the school.

Paul Smith, CFA

Paul Smith leads CFA Institute and its more than 130,000 members worldwide in promoting the highest standards of education, ethics, and professional excellence in the investment profession for the ultimate benefit of society.

Smith joined CFA Institute in 2012 as managing director for Asia Pacific, overseeing its expansion into China and India. He later assumed the leadership of its Institutional Partnerships division, which is responsible for engagement with key firms, groups, and associations in the global investment industry. He was appointed president and CEO in January 2015.

He brings extensive leadership experience in the investment management industry, having held a variety of positions in major financial centers over 30 years.

He has also served on the board of a number of Asia-based funds over the years.

Lee Spelman, CFA

Ms. Spelman serves as the Managing Director and Head of U.S. Equityat J.P. Morgan Investment Management Inc. She led the Client Portfolio Management from 2003 until 2016. An employee since 1989, Lee was previously a senior research analyst in the U.S. Equity Research group with responsibility for the technology sector. She was also the global technology sector team leader.

Lee holds a B.S. in economics from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania and is a CFA charterholder. She is a trustee of the University of Pennsylvania. She holds Series 7, 24 and 63 licenses and is a member of CFA Society New York.

Jeffrey Rosenberg, CFA

Jeffrey Rosenberg, CFA, is BlackRock’s Chief Fixed Income Strategist and a member of the BlackRock Investment Institute. His responsibilities include working closely with the Global Chief Investment Officer of Fixed Income and the global fixed income portfolio teams to develop BlackRock’s strategic and tactical views on sector allocation within fixed income, currencies and commodities. Mr. Rosenberg is also the portfolio manager for the fixed income tactical allocation managed model portfolio, an actively managed portfolio of exchange traded funds.

Prior to joining BlackRock, Mr. Rosenberg spent nearly 10 years at Bank of America Merrill Lynch as the Chief Credit Strategist. His most recent role included coordination of strategy across all fixed income, securitized assets, credit, FX and commodities.

Nili Gilbert, CFA, CAIA

Nili Gilbert is Co-Founder and Portfolio Manager of Matarin Capital, with responsibility for hedge fund and long-only equity strategies. Matarin has been recognized as an investment performance leader by PSN and by eVestment Alliance/Emerging Manager Monthly, and as a thought leader, with its research cited in such publications as The Wall Street Journal and Barron’s. Nili regularly appears on CNBC television, as well.

Nili received her BA from Harvard University, graduating magna cum laude in a Special Concentration in Economics and Social Studies, and her MBA in Finance from Columbia Business School, where she was a Toigo Fellow. She is both a CFA and CAIA Charterholder.

Nili has been honored by World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader, and by 100 Women in Hedge Funds as a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Scholar.

Gregory Zuckerman is a Special Writer at The Wall Street Journal, a 20-year veteran of the paper and a three-time winner of the Gerald Loeb award — the highest honor in business journalism.

Greg is the author of “The Frackers: The Outrageous Inside Story of the New Billionaire Wildcatters,” a national bestseller published October 2014 by Portfolio/Penguin Press. Greg also wrote “The Greatest Trade Ever: The Behind-the-Scenes Story of How John Paulson Defied Wall Street and Made Financial History,” a New York Times and Wall Street Journal best seller published December 2010 by Crown Business/Random House.

At the Journal, Greg writes about big financial firms, personalities and trades, hedge funds, the energy revolution and other investing and business topics. Previously, Greg was the lead writer of the widely read “Heard on the Street” column and covered the credit markets, among other beats.
