Advice and Dissent: Why America Suffers When Economics and Politics Collide
A Book Lecture by Alan Blinder
Monday, September 17, 2018
McNally Amphitheatre
140 West 62nd Street
New York, NY 10023
Alan Blinder, Ph.D., leading economist and political expert, will discuss the clash of economics and politics through the words of his new book, Advice and Dissent: Why America Suffers When Economics and Politics Collide.
American economic policy and politicians historically have had complications connecting on their viewpoints. The cultural divide separates these two forums, which the country expects to be unified and run efficiently. To a fault, politicians are concerned with winning elections and keeping their counterparts satisfied while economists
provide their calculated standpoint, leaving our nation in a world full of disconnect. Blinder will discuss ways to bridge the gap between these two parties to encourage unity amongst the leaders of our nation.
The first 100 attendees will receive a copy of his book Why Economics and Politics Collide.
