CFA Society New York Book Club

CFA Society New York Book Club meets monthly and is designed to be an informal group discussion on a multitude of investment related topics. We will generally have 2-3 books planned in advance so society members can pick and choose which ones they are interested in attending. At each meeting, we discuss as a group which books will be on the calendar. Overall, a fantastic way to build on our investment knowledge and meet other like-minded members.

Program Overview

How did we go from concerns around peak oil to a supply driven drop in O&G prices? What is horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing? How has the US become a major player in O&G potentially causing Saudi Arabia and Russia to cut production to keep prices elevated? Learn about the U.S. energy revolution and how 21st century wildcatters of America’s energy renaissance leveraged technology and managed risk to produce a stunning energy boom in the United States. This powerful book details how the U.S. private sector operates and the risks/rewards associated with the volatile energy sector. We look forward to seeing you at the June event to discuss this and other questions in more detail.

Inclement weather

CFANY reserves the right to cancel or reschedule all in-person events within 48 hours when inclement weather has been forecasted and travel is restricted by city officials.  The program may also be produced solely via livestream in such circumstances.  Please note the cancellation policy regarding refunds and substitutions.
