Carlos Franco

Carlos is IDB´s Head of Investments in the Bank´s Treasury. In this role, he leads a highly skilled team managing $40 billion of the Bank’s own liquid assets and other development funds, diversified globally in rates, credit, derivatives and structured markets. Carlos has also led the phased incorporation of ESG criteria into his group´s investment process.

Carlos joined the IDB in 1991 holding various positions within the Bank’s Treasury. Prior to IDB, he held roles at the Pan-American Health Organization and the Organization of American States. Carlos holds a Master of Business Administration degree from The George Washington University, and undergraduate degrees in Finance and Management Information Systems from George Mason University.
