Time Commitment and Collaboration Acknowledgment
*
I Understand
The roles of Chair and Vice-Chairs of a CFA Society New York Volunteer Interest Group require active participation in scheduled virtual calls and in-person meetings and events at the Society’s New York City office. Activities typically occur on weekday evenings, generally between Tuesday and Thursday. This role involves a meaningful but episodic time commitment generally a few hours per month which may increase modestly in the weeks leading up to major events. Responsibilities include leading Interest Group calls, developing and organizing programming, and engaging with speakers and sponsors.
As part of these leadership responsibilities, Chairs and Vice-Chairs also participate in periodic review meetings with the Society’s Interest Group Coordinator and Chief Executive Officer. These sessions are designed to support the success and growth of the Interest Group and typically include discussions on member engagement and attendance, membership trends, leadership development, event collaboration, programming ideas, and best practices. Quarterly review calls are held with the CEO, with additional check-ins or training sessions scheduled as needed.
By selecting “I Understand,” you acknowledge the time commitment associated with this role and confirm that you are willing and available to collaborate with fellow Interest Group leaders and Society leadership to review progress, recognize successes, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
Conflict of Interest Acknowledgment
*
I Understand
As a volunteer, you acknowledge your responsibility to act in the best interests of CFA Society New York and its members at all times. You understand the importance of avoiding situations in which your personal, professional, or financial interests may conflict, or reasonably appear to conflict, with your duties as a volunteer.
You agree to disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest related to your volunteer role. If a conflict arises after your initial disclosure, you will promptly notify the Chief Executive Officer of CFA Society New York, in writing.
By submitting this application, you agree to comply with all current and future policies of CFA Society New York and to conduct yourself with integrity, transparency, and in a manner that serves the best interests of the Society and its members.
Volunteer Interest Group Code of Conduct Acknowledgment
*
I Understand
As a volunteer of a CFA Society New York Volunteer Interest Group, you agree to conduct yourself with professionalism, integrity, and respect, and to act in the best interests of the Society and its members. You acknowledge that you are expected to comply with all applicable Society policies, procedures, and codes of conduct, including those relating to ethics, conflicts of interest, confidentiality, and respectful behavior, as they may be amended from time to time. You understand that the volunteer role must not be used for personal, professional, or commercial gain, and that you are expected to cooperate with Society staff and volunteer leadership and to report any conduct that may violate Society policies. You acknowledge that failure to adhere to these standards may result in corrective action, including removal from the Volunteer Interest Group.
