Charles Liang, CFA
Charles Liang’s professional and education experience span the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and China. He currently works at AIG in New York, underwriting Project Finance and Structured Credit transactions across infrastructure, power, renewable energy, and natural resources sectors globally. Prior to joining AIG, he was with Investors Group, a leading Canadian asset manager, where he focused on private and illiquid security valuations. Earlier in his career, Charles served at SINOSURE, China’s official export credit agency (ECA), underwriting large-scale infrastructure projects across the Asia-Pacific and Africa. He began his career in the corporate and investment banking sector.
Charles holds an MBA from McGill University (Canada), a master’s degree in finance from the University of Bath School of Management (United Kingdom), and a Bachelor of Law from Beijing Jiaotong University Law School (China). He is also a CFA charterholder and currently serves as Co-Vice Chair of the International Investing Group at CFA Society New York. A world traveler and proud father of two daughters, Charles is passionate about international development finance, cross-border investments, international affairs, and geopolitics.
