Griffin Newman

Griffin Newman is a New York-based Portfolio Manager at Point72, specializing in equities in the Industrials and Consumer sectors. He joined the Firm in 2015 as a Research Analyst covering airlines, aerospace and defense, transportation, and cruise lines prior to becoming a PM in 2019.

Griffin’s experience in aviation started when he was 16, when he began working at Teterboro Airport in Airport Operations and at Jet Aviation in customer service. He also worked as an aviation consultant at SH&E while in college. Griffin joined Point72 from Brigade Capital Management, a multi-strategy, multi-asset investment firm where he focused on high yield, distressed, structured credit, and leveraged equities in similar sectors, as well as aircraft leasing and part outs. Prior to joining Brigade, Griffin worked as an investment banker at Credit Suisse in the Financial Sponsors Group.

Griffin earned his B.S.B.A in Finance and International Business from Georgetown University, magna cum laude. He is originally from Tenafly, New Jersey, and has worked as an EMT and a firefighter.
