The CFA Society New York Putting Beneficiaries First Series was founded in 2018 with the CFA Institute mission statement of “To lead the investment profession globally by promoting the highest standards of ethics, education, and professional excellence for the ultimate benefit of society” in mind. The Series is a collection of exclusive events to highlight attendant risks to pension and entitlement beneficiaries in light of increasing government debt levels, federal entitlement underfunding, pension underfunding and the risks presented by technological innovations. The Putting Beneficiaries First Series goes well beyond the headlines and political noise that obscure real debate and analysis. The Series features thought leading speakers that represent financial institutions, asset owner investment staff, asset owner trustees, non-partisan think-tanks, unions leaders that represent beneficiaries, investment consultants and government officials for data driven discussions.
The Series was founded in 2017 by CFA Institute’s Inaugural Global Outstanding Young Leader and CFA Society New York’s 2016 Benjamin Graham Distinguished Service Award recipient, Thomas Brigandi, CFA.
