CFA Society New York has launched Cvent—our new events platform
Changes to the event-registration process are here! Instructions and information on those changes—including the effect those changes will have on the event-registration process moving forward—have been provided below.
Event registration requires a CFA Institute account. Those who already have a CFA Institute account must use their existing CFA Institute account email address and password. Those without an existing CFA Institute account can create one quickly and easily (and for free).
Step-by-Step Walkthrough
The following steps pertain to individuals without an existing CFA Institute account.
Registration for all events processed via our new Cvent events platform—a free CFA Institute account is required.
If you do not already have a CFA Institute account, you will be required to create one by clicking the “Sign up now” link. The process will take just a couple of minutes and requires a name, an email address, and the creation of a password.
To create your account and register for an event:
- Click the “Sign up now” link
- Provide the email address you would like to use. This will be the email address you use to register for all CFA NY events
- On the next screen, confirm that your email address is correct, and click the “Send verification code” button
- Find and enter the verification code you should have received via email notification into the “Verification Code” field, and hit the “Verify Email” button
- Once verified, continue onto the next screen where you will create a password and provide your first and last name. After doing so, hit the “Create Account” button and you’re done!
- Following account creation—if you were not automatically redirected back to the registration funnel—use the registration URL you were provided with or return to the event page and follow the “Register” button to revisit the event’s registration portal. You may now enter the credentials you created in the previous steps and proceed to complete your registration. These will be your event-registration credentials for all CFA Society New York events moving forward.
The following steps require an existing CFA Institute account.
Registration for all events taking place September 29 onward will be processed via our new Cvent events platform.
To register for an event:
- Enter the email address you have associated with your account at CFA Institute
- Enter the password you have associated with your existing account at CFA Institute
- Click “Log In”
After clicking the “Log In” button—if the entered credentials match the existing credentials you have associated with your account at CFA Institute—you will be redirected to the event’s Cvent portal where you may proceed to complete the registration process.
Forgot Your CFA Institute Account Email Address or Password?
Click the “Need help logging in?” link to reset your account password.
Please be advised that the registration button found on any post-September 29 event will lead to the CFA Institute login page (pictured below). Following login, you will be directed to the appropriate Cvent registration portal where you may complete the registration process.
CFA Society New York is in the process of transitioning over to Cvent—our new events platform.
As such, some changes to the event-registration process are on the horizon; more information on those changes—and the effect those changes will have on future event registration—will be provided later this month.
Of more immediate note, many of you may begin receiving automated email notifications, informing you that you have successfully registered for an event that:
- Has already occurred; or
- You have already registered for
For those in receipt of such emails, please note that /there is no action needed from you at this time/ — such messages may safely be ignored. These automated email notifications are simply the result of our staff’s effort to transfer historic registration records off of our legacy events platform over to our new Cvent-based events platform.
Full transition is tentatively planned to be completed by the end of the month. After that point—beginning with 6th Annual real estate Outlook: PropTech Applications for Today and In the Future (September 29)—all future events will be hosted on the new Cvent-based platform.
If you have any questions on any of the above, please don’t hesitate to let us know.
