Overview
Women make up just 10% of all Fund Managers in the US, ranking behind Singapore (30%), Hong Kong (26%), France (21%) and the UK (13%)[1], despite representing 52% of the total workforce in US Funds, Trusts and Other Financial Vehicles[2]. While recent news, such as the self-published 29% pay gap for women at a major global bank[3], along with high-profile gender-focused cases, has refocused the spotlight, the reality is that the low representation of women in Investment Management and Finance has been a chronic and long term trend. In its 5th year, the event ‘Alpha Women: Shaping the Future of Finance’ evening will feature Investment Management industry leaders discussing their own career paths and experiences in ‘beating the odds’, recognizing challenges from breaking into the industry through to effectively navigating towards senior level positions.
