The tremendous growth of passive investing over the past few years has raised some serious concerns about whether the trend is sustainable and the broader risk to the market as the market capitalization dedicated to passive strategies rises inexorably towards the 40% mark or ‘Peak Passive’. Therefore the Value Investing group at the CFA Society of NY are hosting an event titled ‘Peak Passive-unintended consequences of passive investing and implications for value investors’ to further explore this topic.
In recent years the topics of Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning & Big Data have become increasingly popular. This growth has been fueled by the collection & availability of new data; continually increasing processing power & storage and the open source movement making tools more widely available.
This event will explore the issues of compensation and talent management from both the firm perspective as well as the employee’s perspective. Managers need to understand how to recruit and retain the best talent and Individual Employees need to know how to ask for the compensation they need. The discussion will be led by subject matter experts in HR, Employment Law, Accounting, Recruiting and Executive Coaching.
This AGA luncheon and presentation will focus on the outlook for natural gas demand and supply, as well as regulatory and legislative changes. The presentation will emphasize the potential impact of climate and energy legislation and will address various issues regarding investment in various sectors.
The annual meeting of members will serve to officially elect candidates to the 2018 Board of Directors and confirm appointees to the Nominations Committee.
