We appreciate your interest in participating in the Mentorship Program. To maintain a safe and positive experience for all participants, by submitting this application, you hereby consent to:

• Not utilize this Mentorship Program as a recruiting platform or for-profit career counseling service
• Commit to a minimum of 5 hours over the year
• Understand that while we endeavor to provide the most suitable and one-on-one Mentor/Mentee match, there may be cases where your Mentee is not in your career areas of expertise indicated in this application
• Establish clear understanding of both Mentor’s and Mentee’s goals and expectations of the Mentorship Program at the outset
• Respond to Mentee’s request to schedule one-on-one meetings and be respectful of the Mentee’s time
• Treat the mentee with utmost respect and not discriminate on the basis of race, color, creed, national origin or sexual preference, understanding that participation in this Program reflects on CFA Society New York, both positively and negatively
• Be professional and communicate constructive feedback to the Mentee in a timely manner throughout the Program
• Maintain confidentiality of the information shared by your Mentee (including but not limited to: career and education experiences, goals and ideas) unless his/her consent to share with third parties is obtained. The Mentorship relationship shall be built upon a foundation of trust and open communication
• Not have the authority to speak for CFA Society New York or its Young Leaders Group unless explicitly authorized to do so, or use/disclose any confidential information, data or materials relating to the business affairs or property of CFA Society New York, Young Leaders Group or their members
• Contact the Young Leaders Committee should you feel the Mentee pairing is not suitable or if Mentee conducts any inappropriate behavior
• Provide constructive feedback on the Mentorship Program to the Young Leaders Committee for future enhancements
• Be reminded that all CFA Institute members adhere to the CFA Institute’s “Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct” requiring that they conduct themselves within the proper ethical and professional guidelines
