Amit Thakur is North America head of general industries M&A for Standard Chartered Bank where he is responsible for connecting capital flows to and from North America into Asia, Africa and the Middle East. He has 13 years of investment banking experience in India with Standard Chartered, Morgan Stanley and ICICI Group. While based in India, Thakur had a ringside seat to the growth of the markets and corporations across sectors. He advised Indian companies on their capital raises, investments and acquisitions—both domestically and overseas. Thakur also advised global corporations on their investments in industrials, infrastructure, financials, resources and consumer in India. He is a trained electrical engineer and obtained his MBA from XLRI, Jamshedpur in India.
