Anne van Riel

Anne joined BNP Paribas in 2020 to establish the Sustainable Finance Capital Markets team in the Americas region. She has since led many ESG-labeled transactions for BNPP, including Mars’ Sustainability Bond, General Mills and Analog Devices’ Sustainability-Linked Bonds, Ford and GM’s inaugural Green Bond and many syndicated Sustainability-Linked Loans. Prior to BNP Paribas, she was the Head of Sustainable Finance for ING Capital in the Americas where she originated and structured several inaugural sustainable finance transactions including the Johnson Control Inc Sustainability Linked Loan and Xylem’s Sustainability Linked Revolving Facility. Past experience includes origination roles within Project Finance in the Infrastructure and Natural Resources sectors in both North and South America and Private Equity for the Dutch Development Bank (FMO). Anne has an MSC in Business Administration from the University of Maastricht and was an exchange student at Universidad Pacifico in Lima, Peru. Anne speaks Dutch (native), English (fluent) and Spanish (conversational).
