Cassandra Virgin

Cassandra Virgin is a Managing Director and Co-Head of BlackRock’s Custom and Outsourced Solutions Client Business in the Americas. She oversees client engagement and business development with institutional investors and search consultants seeking custom multi-asset, whole portfolio, and outsourced chief investment officer (OCIO) solutions. Ms. Virgin co-leads a team that structures and executes strategic partnerships, delivering BlackRock’s comprehensive investment, risk management, and advisory capabilities across public and private markets. She also drives enterprise initiatives focused on client strategy, business innovation, and platform development.

Previously, Ms. Virgin held global and regional leadership roles for BlackRock’s Americas Institutional Business (AIB) and Multi-Asset Strategies & Solutions (MASS) group. During her tenure, she built and led teams specializing in client engagement, portfolio structuring, multi-manager research, relationship management, and client strategy. MASS is the investment group at the heart of BlackRock’s portfolio construction, asset allocation, and active management ecosystem. Ms. Virgin was a founding member of the OCIO business in the Americas, leading investment strategy, and client service for a range of institutional segments.

Before joining BlackRock, Ms. Virgin began her career at Goldman Sachs Asset Management (GSAM), where she held roles in global operations, multi-asset strategies, divisional management, and client business teams. She led portfolio management oversight of outsourced client lifecycle events and executed strategic growth initiatives, including business acquisitions and integrations.
Ms. Virgin earned a B.A. degree, magna cum laude, in History from Georgetown University, and an M.A. degree in History and Education from Columbia University, along with an Advanced Certificate in Cooperation and Conflict Resolution. She resides in New Jersey with her family.
