Daniel Gamba, CFA
Daniel Gamba, CFA, Managing Director, is Co-Head of Fundamental Equities and member of BlackRock’s Global Operating Committee, Portfolio Management Group Executive Committee, and Human Capital Committee. He also co-chairs the Somos Latinx Network, BlackRock’s community of Latinx employees.
In his current role, he is responsible for BlackRock’s Fundamental Equities business across US, Europe, Global, Emerging Markets, Hedge Funds, Thematic and Sectors, and Sustainability active equity strategies. He co-chairs Fundamental Equities Executive Committee and is responsible for business strategy, investment performance and talent management. He was previously Global Head of Active Equities Product Strategy, responsible for platform strategy, product development, and business activities to drive growth across Active Equities.
Previously, Mr. Gamba was co-head of iShares US and head of Americas Institutional, where he led business strategy and execution of iShares US ETFs business. Mr. Gamba’s service with the firm dates back to 2000, including his years with Barclays Global Investors (BGI) where he was the CEO of the Latin America & Caribbean business. In this role, he grew assets by ~$50 billion in six years and opened offices in Mexico City, Santiago, Bogota, Sao Paulo and Miami. He began his career as Director of Global Strategy where he was responsible for strategic planning working for BGI’s CEO. Earlier, he was a consultant at A.T. Kearney and worked in marketing and product management at Procter & Gamble.
He serves as Chair of the Board of Governors of the CFA Institute, the premier global association of the investment industry with 170,000 CFA charter holders in 164 markets. Mr. Gamba earned a BS degree in industrial engineering from Universidad Catolica del Peru and an MBA in finance and economics from Northwestern University where he currently serves on the Board of its Alumni Association.
