Derek Wallis

Derek Wallis is Chief Operating Officer at 33 Capital Management. Derek started his career at Soros in a variety of roles, mostly within equities. During his tenure he traded and advised on risk management for George Soros and 45+ portfolio managers across industries and market cycles. In 2013 Derek co-founded Marlowe Partners alongside executives from Soros and Appaloosa. At Marlowe, he was head trader and a member of the firm’s risk committee. Born and raised in New Zealand, Derek received a B.A. and a Masters from Auckland University. He also founded a fundraiser for veteran causes that is held annually at the Intrepid Museum in New York City.
