Ebonnie Goodfield
Ebonnie Goodfield is a retired Navy veteran and military professional, who brings over a decade of leadership and advocacy experience. She served on two Western Pacific deployments in the Stennis Strike Group as an Internal Communications technician during the Global War on Terror. Following her enlistment, she was contracted with the New York Air National Guard to provide deployment transitional support to over 1,000 Airmen and families, where she was recognized as 2018’s ‘Service to the Armed Forces Hero’ by the American Red Cross for her assistance responding to deployment casualty.
Ebonnie graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Columbia University last May with the highest award given to a graduating student; the Columbia Alumni Association Campbell Award. She was recognized for her work as the Vice President of the Military Veterans of Columbia University, founding and Presiding over the Women Veterans of Columbia University, both the largest student veteran and women veteran organizations in the Ivy League, co-creating a paid fellowship program between Columbia School of General Studies and Barnard College, along with other projects and publications advocating for equity and inclusion of women and veteran initiatives in academic and professional spaces.
She is a published author, recipient of Columbia GS Service Award, two-time recipient of Columbia Change Agent Award, and has been highlighted by USAWarriorStories, WarriorsRock, and WLIW’s Heart of the East End radio and will be receiving the 2024 Max Gabriel Award from National Alliance of Military Illness in November and is pursuing a Master in Science at Columbia School of Social Work.
