Ebrahim Rahbari

Ebrahim Rahbari is the head of rates strategy and head of research US at Absolute Strategy Research, and Senior Advisor for Geoeconomics and Markets for Fordham Global Foresight. Ebrahim is based in New York and has two decades of experience advising global investors and corporates on the interplay between macroeconomics, policy, and investment outcomes. Prior to the current roles, Ebrahim spent nearly 15 years at Citigroup in London and New York, where he held senior roles including Global Head of Foreign Exchange Analysis, Chief Currency Strategist, and Head of Global Macroeconomics. He led his team to a consecutive No. 1 rankings in the Institutional Investor Survey’s Currency Strategy category from 2018 to 2022, and Ebrahim was the top-ranked individual currency strategist in 2022. Ebrahim is a frequent commentator in global media, including Bloomberg, CNBC, the Financial Times, Handelsblatt, and Project Syndicate. He holds a BA in Economics and Management from Oxford University (Balliol College) and a PhD in Economics from London Business School. Ebrahim is a member of the Economic Club of New York and has guest lectured at leading institutions, including Columbia University and London Business School.
