Evan Katz
Evan Katz is Managing Director of Crawford Ventures, Inc., a leading Manhattan-based alternative asset investment firm that forms, grows, holds interests in, and raises very substantial investor capital for, compelling hedge funds, private equity funds, and other alternative investment funds.
An honors graduate of The Wharton School of Business and Harvard Law School, Evan has worked on Wall Street since 2003, and is highly regarded as an expert on alternative asset best practices, institutional investors and successful fundraising. In this regard, he has raised very substantial investor capital and commitments for compelling hedge funds, private equity funds, and early stage technology and medical life sciences companies. Evan’s vast and longstanding professional relationships in the global investor community include high‑level relationships with ~1,000 institutional and family office investors worldwide (including their consultants and OCIO’s), which collectively have trillions of dollars of assets, and allocate hundreds of billions of dollars to hedge, private equity and other alternative investment funds (typically $10-$100+ million per investor, per fund). His investor relationships include many prominent, large and world-renowned endowments, foundations, funds of funds, insurance companies, multi-family offices, pensions (public and private), single-family offices, and sovereign wealth funds, and also many medium and smaller investors as well.
Evan is a twice-elected Director on the Hedge Fund Association (HFA) Board of Directors, on which he served from 2014 to 2019. He previously served for two years on the HFA Advisory Board (2012-2014), and also was honored with and received the “Young Leadership Award” at the 2011 Hedge Fund Summit. Over the course of his career on Wall Street, Evan has been quoted numerous times in the hedge fund and finance press, and likewise is a frequent featured speaker and panelist at numerous leading hedge fund conferences and symposia, all as an expert regarding alternative investments, institutional and family office investors, successful large-scale fundraising, the state of the hedge fund industry, and hedge fund best practices. He also has received more than 2,000 LinkedIn endorsements, by his alternative investment and Wall Street peers, as an expert regarding finance, hedge funds, private equity, alternative investments, institutional investors and successful fundraising. In addition, Evan also is actively involved with and supports numerous hedge fund, Wall Street and other philanthropic causes, including Hedge Funds Care / Help For Children (HFC), on whose “Committee of Hearts” Evan has been an active member from 2016 through the present.
