Geoffrey Dohrmann, CRE
Geoffrey Dohrmann, CRE, is the founder and is a director, president and CEO of Institutional Real Estate, Inc. — a San Ramon, Calif.–based publishing and consulting company focused on meeting the information needs of the institutional real estate, infrastructure and private wealth advisory investment communities. In this capacity, he also serves as publisher and editor-in-chief of several leading industry publications, including Institutional Real Estate Americas, Institutional Real Estate Europe, Institutional Real Estate Asia Pacific, FundTracker, Institutional Investing in Infrastructure and Real Assets Adviser, as well as numerous special reports, the IREI news cloud, and several email news alert services serving each of those constituencies. Dohrmann also serves as conference producer of IREI’s industry events, including Visions, Insights & Perspectives (VIP) Americas, VIP Europe, IREI Infrastructure Strategies, IREI CEO Summit and IREI Springboard.
In addition to these responsibilities, Dohrmann serves as a Trustee of the Bailard REIT, a Foster-City, California-based non-listed, private real estate investment trust serving the needs of individual and institutional investors. He also has served as a trustee (from 2000 through 2010) of Lexington Realty Trust (NYSE: LXP), a New York–based real estate investment trust that invests in net-leased single-tenant properties. And, from 2002 through 2007, he was a director and chairman of the charter board of managers for the J.P. Morgan Real Estate Income & Growth Fund, a $2 billion open-end diversified real estate investment fund.
Dohrmann continues to consult with many of the leading firms in the real estate investment management industry, and also has lectured on institutional real estate market–related matters at the business schools of the University of California – Berkeley, the University of Chicago, Stanford University, Harvard University, Northwestern University, the University of North Carolina and Yale University.
A graduate of the University of California – Berkeley, Dohrmann is a member of the editorial and/or advisory boards for The Journal of Real Estate Portfolio Management and Real Estate Research Corp., and for ULI’s annual Emerging Trends In Real Estate report. He is a Fellow of the Homer Hoyt Institute and the American Real Estate Society, a member of the Counselors of Real Estate and a past member of the Board of Directors for the American Real Estate Society as well as the San Francisco Architectural Heritage. He also currently serves on the advisory boards for the following organizations: Beezwax, Builders Realty Capital, LongRun Advisers, the Marcus & Millichap Companies, Amero Global Investors, and Redhill Realty Investors.
His professional memberships include the American Real Estate Society, the Pension Real Estate Association, the Urban Land Institute (Responsible Property Investment Council), the National Association of Real Estate Editors, the American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association, the Asia Pacific Real Estate Association, ANREV, INREV, and the Pacific Pension Institute.
