Howard Davies

Howard Davies joined De Beers in 1989 after studying History at Cambridge University. His early roles with the group included buying rough diamonds in central Africa, and managing wholesale customer accounts in India and Antwerp. Over the past 15 years, he has been instrumental in shaping De Beers’ B2B distribution strategy for rough diamonds, including the recent implementation of new and more stringent financial compliance standards for De Beers’ term contract buyers, the Sightholders. He also heads up De Beers’ liaison with the financial institutions that lend to the midstream diamond industry worldwide.
