John Fawcett

  John Fawcett, known in the industry as “Fawce”, has made meaningful contributions to the fintech landscape, particularly through his initiatives to foster community collaboration and knowledge sharing. As the co-founder of Tamale Software, he initially focused on enhancing the research process at investment firms. Building on this experience, Fawce created Quantopian, marking a significant step towards democratizing algorithmic trading and quant finance, by inviting a global community of quants to engage in the research, development, and deployment of trading algorithms. Quantopian operated from 2011 until 2020, when the team moved to Robinhood.

In his current role at Robinhood as a Director of Product Management, Fawce is currently working on Robinhood’s APIs, aiming to make financial markets more accessible to a broader audience. His work emphasizes the importance of user-friendly and accessible financial tools, reflecting his ongoing commitment to leveraging technology for financial empowerment.
