John Lazar is a Director of Burford’s underwriting and investment arm.  Prior to joining Burford, Mr. Lazar was a litigator at Cravath, Swaine & Moore and at Wollmuth Maher & Deutch. He has extensive experience in arbitration and complex commercial litigation matters including securities fraud, accounting fraud, patent analysis and litigation, trade secret theft and complex contractual issues in state and federal trial and appellate courts.  Mr. Lazar graduated cum laude from The University of Michigan Law School.
