Laline Carvalho
Laline Carvalho is a Director in the Corporate Ratings Department at S&P Global Ratings, where she is currently responsible for researching environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors. She was a contributor to the development of S&P Global Ratings’ recently launched Green Evaluations and S&P’s recent proposal for an ESG Assessment framework. Prior to her current role, Laline was a senior credit analyst in the Financial Services practice, where she was responsible for analyzing complex property/casualty (re)insurance groups, insurance services companies and corporate credits. Throughout her years at S&P Laline has contributed in a wide range of roles including 10 years as the North America and Bermuda reinsurance specialist and as primary credit analyst for Latin American (re)insurance companies. Laline has presented extensively to external constituencies and published research articles on a wide range of topics throughout her career at S&P.
Prior to joining S&P Global, Laline was a financial analyst at insurance broker Marsh & McLennan, Inc. Her responsibilities included the analysis and monitoring of the financial condition of insurance companies utilized by Marsh & McLennan worldwide, with particular emphasis on insurers based in the U.S., Europe, and Latin America.
Laline is a Magna Cum Laude graduate from Ithaca College, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in Finance and International Business. She is currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Environmental Science and Policy at Johns Hopkins University. Originally from Brazil, Laline has lived in Switzerland and Austria and currently lives in the United States. She is fluent in Portuguese and English, near fluent in Spanish, and has intermediate knowledge of German.
