Marcia Peters, CFA
Marcia is PEI’s Chief Investment Officer, responsible for developing economic analysis, asset allocation, and client investment strategy. Recently, she has also focused on defined benefit plan issues and trends, working with clients to align their investment allocation to their liabilities and funded status goals, as well as helping them think through issues such as lump sum offerings and plan terminations. She also works on special projects such as money market and stable value fund analysis, investment fund searches, asset allocation studies for trustee directed plans including endowments and foundations, and alternative asset class analysis. Marcia is the head of PEI’s Investment Committee, and has been a presenter at a number of investment conferences in New York and Philadelphia, focusing on investment solutions for trustee-directed plans.
Prior to joining PEI, Marcia was an Executive Director for TheGoldman Sachs Group, Inc., in their New York office. She covered mutual funds, pension funds, endowments, corporate treasury depart-ments, and high net worth individuals; assisting them with invest-ment strategies to maximize return and minimize risk in the currency,commodity and interest rate markets. Her responsibilities included structuring hybrid notes and warrants, developing exchange traded vehicles, creating option and swap strategies, and building riskmanagement tools. She also worked on the initial development of the Goldman Sachs Commodity Index (GSCI).
Marcia graduated cum laude with a BSE in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. She also earned an MBA with high honors distinction from The Wharton School. Marcia is a mem-ber of the CFA Institute, the New York Society of Security Analysts, and the Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Society.
