Mark Rieder

Mark Rieder brings over 25 years of credit investing experience and currently serves as Chief Investment Officer of La Mar Assets, an opportunistic credit platform in its marketing phase. La Mar aims to capitalize on market dislocations and special situations, sometimes employing leverage and long/short positioning. The strategy reflects high-conviction views on individual companies across global public and private markets.

In addition to his role at La Mar, Mark serves as Senior Advisor to Fourier Asset Management, part of the Hurricane Capital platform. He plays a key role in shaping Fourier’s Systematic Convertible Arbitrage and Capital Structure Arbitrage strategies, guiding their development and execution.

Prior to founding La Mar, Mark spent a decade at GIC, Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund, where he served as Managing Director and Lead Portfolio Manager for Corporate Bonds in New York. Earlier in his career, he managed corporate credit portfolios at reinsurance company PartnerRe and began as a high-yield sell-side research analyst at Goldman Sachs.

Mark is also the author of Reminiscences of a Bond Operator: A Guide to Investing in Corporate Debt, praised by the CFA Institute as “an attractive guide to corporate bonds, professionally focused but accessible to analysts and portfolio managers of all experience levels.”
