Matt Noll, CFA, CQF
Matt has a combined 17 years of experience covering the financial services sector as an analyst, banker and advisor. He began his financial career in investment banking, serving in roles at Credit Suisse and Citi. In 2002, he joined Moody’s Investor Service, where he was a lead analyst over the bond insurance and asset management sectors. In 2010, Matt joined Morgan Stanley’s Global Capital Markets Division serving as a credit rating advisor, helping over 100 issuers navigate rating issues involving M&A, restructurings, balance sheet optimizations, term loan borrowings, and first-time bond issues. In 2013, Matt began a path toward consulting, helping Kroll Bond Rating Agency expand its coverage of bond insurers. In 2014, he joined Fitch as a Senior Director, working with rating teams to improve their outreach to investors through high volume publishing on credit matters affecting the banking and insurance sectors across the Americas. He joined EY’s Financial Services Advisory practice in October 2016, helping banks and lenders improve their credit risk management practices.
Matt holds an MBA with a finance concentration from the NYU Stern School of Business, and a B.S. in Applied Physics from the University of Notre Dame, where he attended on a four-year NROTC scholarship. He served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy nuclear submarine force following his undergraduate degree. He obtained his CFA Charter in 2005 and served as the Chair of the Institutional Asset Management Committee between January 2011 and January 2016. He was among several recipients of CFA Society New York’s Volunteer of the Year award in 2014 and co-founded the Veterans Committee in 2015 to help promote the CFA program with transitioning veterans.
