Maxine Barnett is CEO of Acorus Capital, a Hong Kong-based private equity group specializing in African cross-border investment. Acorus’ investment strategy is focused on domestic consumption growth capital opportunities in agri-business, healthcare, clean energy, and TMT. Prior to starting Acorus, Barnett had a 13-year career in investment banking, where she specialized in proprietary trading and risk management for African and Asian markets. She held senior positions at Credit Suisse, BNP Paribas, and Lehman/Nomura. Barnett has an extensive track record of generating proprietary profits and portfolio risk management. Barnett holds a bachelor of arts from the University of Cape Town and is an active member of the Women’s Foundation of Hong Kong.
