Melissa Castello

Melissa Castello is the Senior Director of Human Resources at Oppenheimer & Co. Inc and has more than 15 years of strategic human resource experience.  She is responsible for enhancing the overall employee experience at our Broad Street headquarters and develops the employee and managerial training curriculum; implements standard hiring and onboarding practices; and creates new programs to foster employee engagement.

Melissa joined Oppenheimer from Frank Hirth where she served as the Head of Human Resources for the New York office and was responsible for all London and New York talent acquisition and retention initiatives, training programs, performance management, and benefit and compensation structures. Previously she worked for CitiStorage and CD-adapco/Siemens where she built the human resources function. She began her professional career working with Human Resources information systems at Hofstra University.

Melissa earned her B.A. in Public Communication from American University and her M.B.A from Hofstra University. She is actively involved in VOWS, and the Society for Human Resource Management.
