Michael Doolan
Michael Doolan has over 25 years of experience in M&A, private investment funds and cross border tax, including 19 years in the tax practice of another Big Four firm in Australia and the US. He is the Americas Infrastructure Funds Tax Leader at EY and is based in our New York Office. Michael joined EY in 2011 from Macquarie Group, the global investment bank and asset management firm. At Macquarie, Michael was based in New York and was the Senior Managing Director responsible for tax and structuring in the Americas for Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA). The most significant components of MIRA’s Americas asset management platform are the Macquarie Infrastructure Partners funds and the Macquarie Infrastructure Company NYSE listed vehicle. The platform included over 20 portfolio companies in Canada, the US and Mexico. Michael’s experience includes fund formation and capital raising, tax compliance, structuring and due diligence for acquisitions, portfolio company restructures, co-investment vehicles and the planning and execution of liquidity events. His principal geographic focus is the United States and Canada, but over the course of his career he has worked on the launch of new funds and the execution of transactions in Europe, Asia, Australia and Latin America. Michael has accounting, law and masters of law degrees from the University of Sydney. He is a CPA licensed in California and a Chartered Accountant admitted to practice in Australia. He completed the Stanford Graduate School of Business Senior Executive Program in 2004.
