Michelle Kelner is a senior hedge fund professional who has a long and successful track record of business building and capital raising over her career.  Having worked at several best in class hedge funds as well as more entrepreneurial environments, her success stems from her diverse background across multiple geographies and markets, and her direct market experience.  She is a leader and team builder, and a strong supporter and mentor of women in finance.

Ms. Kelner is a co-founder of Sandglass Capital Management, LLC, a global special situations hedge fund focused on investments across a range of tradeable assets in emerging and frontier markets.  Ms. Kelner was previously a Senior Partner and Strategist with Prince Street Capital, a New York and Singapore based investment firm that specializes in emerging and frontier markets.  At Prince Street, Ms. Kelner led the firm’s business development and grew the firm from $60 million in 2009 to $1.5bln launching several fund strategies during her time at the firm, including a UCITs and liquid alternatives strategy.  She converted Prince Street’s investor base from mostly family offices and fund of funds to well renowned endowments & foundations, consultants, and other large asset management groups.  She also served on the firm’s investment committee and was responsible for generating and implementing several key investment ideas for the firm’s portfolios.  Prior to joining Prince Street, Ms. Kelner spent 15 years in emerging markets as a portfolio manager and trader at hedge funds SAC Capital, Tudor Investment in New York, and Hermitage Capital in Moscow.  Ms. Kelner graduated with honors in finance and economics from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.  An American citizen, she was born in Russia and speaks the language fluently; she is also conversant in French
