Mike Molitoris, CRPC®, MBA, MIMFA
Mike Molitoris’ initial interest in the financial markets fittingly was stoked when a college economics class he was attending took a tour of the New York Stock Exchange. Life, however, had other plans and shortly thereafter he joined the Air Force. During his time in service, he ended up becoming one of only a handful of airman to be qualified simultaneously on 3 Airborne Systems Engineer positions all while participating in countless worldwide operations, including Operations Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, and Southern Watch. While in the military, Mike developed a reputation for his financial prowess, and in doing so, colleagues often sought his advice on their financial matters. Mike really enjoyed seeing and helping people build their wealth, and that’s when Mike knew that a career in financial services was what he wanted to pursue. Upon being discharged from the military, he spent several years cutting his teeth at a nationally-recognized broker-dealer before founding Flagship Wealth Management Group in 2010.
Mike holds several advanced degrees, including a Master of Investment Management & Financial Analysis (MIMFA) and a Masters of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a specialization and graduate certificate in Behavioral Finance & Financial Psychology from Creighton University’s Heider College of Business. With the unique combination of these two specialties, Mike can provide clients with a combined deep-level analytical dive into investments with the emerging and innovative fields of behavioral finance and financial psychology. By merging these two areas, Mike is able to assist clients’ in understanding more about their beliefs about money, saving, and investing, and provide them the necessary tools to help them remove their roadblocks.
When not in the office, Mike is a proud supporter of the Me Fine Foundation, Diaper Bank of N.C, Operation North State, serves on the board of Activate Good, and promotes financial literacy initiatives in the Triangle region with his time and talent. He enjoys spending time with his wife Kristin and their three kids, rooting for the Durham Bulls, NC Courage, and seeking out new adventures.
