Mitch Pineault is Founder and Managing Principal of Garnet Funds Group which provides a Regulatory Technical (RegTech) Solution for funds to establish a Best Execution Policy to achieve best execution as mandated by MiFID II. A 22 year financial industry veteran, Mitch was the tenth employee at Liquidnet spending over 9 years building the Liquidnet best execution alternative trading system. Mitch joined Pragma, owned by Weeden, to build the Superblock ATS and created custom algorithmic trading solutions for the Weeden institutional client base. Prior to founding Garnet Funds, Mitch was Head of Business Strategy at Babelfish Analytics, creating transparency in venue routing to make trade execution more efficient.

Garnet Funds provides a solution for buy side firms trading equities algorithmically to demonstrate that ‘all sufficient steps’ have been taken to provide best execution. This includes publishing public quarterly ‘Quality of Execution Reports’ for all funds trading algorithmically in the EU that begin on April 30, 2018. It is only a matter of time before this new regulation becomes the global standard for investment funds.

Mitch is a registered representative and regulated by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). His entrepreneurial spirit and high integrity have allowed him to create his own playbook in new business startups.
