Moya Connelly
Moya Connelly is an investment executive with over 25 years of experience across sustainable and traditional investments in credit, private equity, and real assets, with a focus on integrating ESG and climate considerations into underwriting, portfolio management, and fund design. She is the Founder and Managing Partner of Surmont Capital, where she structures climate finance funds and develops ESG and impact frameworks for real assets and climate-linked strategies, and has held leadership roles at Deutsche Bank/DWS, and was one of the founders of MicroVest (now part of SEAF), overseeing impact and ESG integration across portfolios exceeding US$600 million in AUM. Her work spans emerging markets energy access, financial inclusion, and blended finance, complemented by advisory and thought-leadership roles with multiple impact-focused boards and initiatives. She has taught Impact & ESG Investing at the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business, holds an MBA from Darden and a BA in Economics from Smith College, and brings additional expertise through specialized ESG and sustainable investing credentials.
