N. Justin Chinyanta
N. Justin Chinyanta is Chairman and CEO of the Loita Group, the Mauritius based holding company for Loita Capital Partners International, a pan-African investment banking firm (www.loita.com), Fintech International, a financial ICT firm (www.fintech-group.com) and Loita Transaction Services, which specializes in African financial switching and electronic payment systems (www.lxsinternational.com). He has been involved in the financial markets of Sub-Sahara Africa for over twenty five years during which he has advised on, structured and arranged in excess of USD 3 billion in various facilities (focusing on structured trade and project financing) for Loita’s various clients, whilst playing a key role in leading foundational debt capital market issues in Eastern and Southern Africa.
Justin is a non executive board member of Ecobank Malawi (Chair Risk and Credit Committee), Johannesburg Securities Exchange listed infrastructure firm Group 5 (Member Risk Committee and Remuneration Committee) and AAR Credit Kenya and Uganda (Board Chair). He also serves as Executive Vice President (Southern Africa) for the Africa Business Roundtable and is one of the pioneer members of General Colin Powell and Ms Madeleine Albright’s Initiative for Global Development’s Frontier 100 CEOs. In April 2013, he became a member of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Commonwealth Study Conference Leaders Forum.
A former senior officer at Citibank and HSBC’s Africa Regional offices, Justin, an advocate of the Zambian High Court, holds an LLB degree from the University of Zambia and a Masters in International Business and Financial Law from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy (Tufts University). He is a Fellow of Harvard University’s Weatherhead Center for International Affairs.
