Nigel Gormly

is Head of International Direct Investment for the New Zealand Superannuation Fund, New Zealand’s sovereign wealth fund, based in Auckland. Nigel is primarily responsible for the Fund’s direct investments in energy, infrastructure and expansion capital as well as leading the Fund’s collaboration efforts with global investment partners. This includes holdings in many of the Fund’s largest investments including Z Energy, RetireAustralia and Horizon Roads as well as high growth companies including View, Bloom Energy and LanzaTech. Prior to joining the Super Fund Nigel spent 10 years with Fonterra, where he held a number of strategic development and commercial leadership roles, most recently as General Manager Commercial Ventures. Nigel’s early career was focused on M&A and corporate finance advisory based in London, with assignments throughout Asia, Latin America and Europe. A Chartered Financial Analyst, Nigel has a BSc / BCom and a Graduate Diploma in Finance from the University of Auckland. He currently serves on the Board of View and LanzaTech.
