Olaolu Aganga
Olaolu is the US Chief Investment Officer for Mercer. Based in New York, Olaolu leads the team responsible for delivering and implementing all aspects of Mercer’s investment IP across traditional and alternative asset classes including strategic and dynamic asset allocation and fund manager selection within a risk managed framework. Mercer’s US client base ranges from defined benefit and defined contribution retirement plans, healthcare asset owners, endowments, foundations, wealth managers, and insurance companies. Most recently, Olaolu was a Managing Director within BlackRock’s US Outsourced CIO business. She was directly responsible for the investment performance on client mandates and for delivering the best of BlackRock’s investment thinking through strategic asset allocation design, portfolio construction, manager selection, and tactical asset allocation.
Prior to joining BlackRock, Olaolu spent several years at Goldman Sachs. While there she advised institutional clients on a variety of investment solutions, including the use of factor-based strategies and derivatives to hedge and enhance returns in their investment portfolios. Prior to Goldman, she worked at Citigroup in trading, structuring, and advisory roles. Olaolu earned a degree in Mathematics from Smith College, and an MBA and a Certificate in Public Management from Stanford University Graduate School of Business. She lives in New York City with her husband and 4-year-old daughter.
