Patricia LaBorda
Patricia joined the Army Reserve while an undergraduate student at Virginia Commonwealth University. In 2007-2008, Patricia deployed during the surge to Balad, Iraq with the 316th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, supporting logistic and security operations throughout Iraq and Kuwait. After deployment, Patricia graduated with BS in Business Marketing and Finance.
Patricia was selected for an assignment at the Pentagon with the Army G-3/5/7, Operations, Readiness, and Mobilization Division. Patricia supported the office of Major General Vandal and other Senior Executives at the Department of Defense. During her assignment at the Pentagon, Patricia was selected for Officer Direct Commission.
In 2013, Patricia left the Pentagon to obtain a Master in International Affairs, from Columbia University, School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA). While attending SIPA, Patricia focused in finance and economics, and participated in the Veterans Integration Program (VIP) at Goldman Sachs. While at Goldman Sachs, Patricia worked in the Operations Division, supporting the project delivery team for the Mexico Broker Dealer project. For her Capstone Project at SIPA, Patricia worked with a Non-Governmental Organization on Economic Development in El Salvador, analyzing the economic impact of the United States Millennium Challenge Corporation foreign aid to El Salvador, and presented recommendations to the Government of El Salvador on methods to invest foreign aid to promote private and public sector partnerships.
Upon graduated from SIPA in 2015, Patricia joined Barclays, as a Vice President in Compliance and serves as a Project Manager for Regulatory Change projects driven by Dodd Frank. Patricia is currently on the Chief of Staff team for the Chief Compliance Officer for Barclays International.
Patricia is a founding member of Women Veterans on Wall Street (wVOWS), a sub-committee of VOWS, that focuses on creating a network to embrace female Veterans transitioning from the military to the private sector. wVOWS has hosted multiple events in the New York City area, and continues to push the topic of issues unique to female veterans. Patricia remains active in the United States Army Reserve as a reserve officer.
