Paul  Wolansky is founder of New China Capital Management, manager of the four Cathay Capital Holdings private equity funds.  Founded in 1992, Cathay pioneered investing in the private side of the Chinese economy, providing growth equity to middle market companies. Cathay has completed over 50 projects in a range of businesses, including Vinda International (SEHK: 3331, China’s premier producer and distributor of sanitary tissue paper), Ray Li Magazines (China’s leading fashion magazine),  Fanhua Inc. (NASDAQ: FANH, a leading financial services provider, providing technology and services to the domestic insurance industry), PetroChina Jinhong Energy (000669: CH, the operator of a network of natural gas pipelines), and Wuxi Little Swan  (200418: CH, China’s leading producer of automatic washing machines).  Cathay was also a founding investor of property developers China Resources Land (SEHK: 1109) and China Aoyuan Property (SEHK: 3883).  Mr. Wolansky was previously a Managing Director of hedge fund Paloma Partners, and graduated from Amherst College and The Harvard Law School.
