Pawel Polak, Ph.D.

Pawel Polak is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Statistics at Stony Brook University and an affiliated faculty member at the Institute for Advanced Computational Science and the Center of Excellence in Wireless and Information Technology (CEWIT). CEWIT plays a key role in research commercialization, providing computational infrastructure, research support, and workforce development for Strategic Partnership for Industrial Resurgence (SPIR) projects done in collaboration with New York state companies. Dr. Polak is actively engaged in these initiatives, advancing developments in quantitative finance, fintech, engineering, and machine learning, and supporting the adoption of new technologies by industry partners. With over a decade of experience, Dr. Polak’s contributions in high-dimensional data analysis, signal processing, machine learning, optimization, and quantitative finance have earned him recognition, including being named one of the Top 10 US Quant & Finance Professors in 2023
