Rich Goode
Rich is a partner and on the leadership team of our ESG Services practice, serving clients across sectors. He brings more than 20 years of industry and more than a dozen years of professional services experience supporting companies in creating ESG strategies, identifying and leveraging opportunities and mitigating ESG-related risk. Rich has extensive experience with ESG strategy development, greenhouse gas emissions, regulatory compliance, sustainable supply chain, climate-related risk and regulatory compliance, including CSRD, ISSB and the US SEC climate rule. Prior to joining PwC, Rich was a chief sustainability officer for a large, Fortune 500 technology equipment manufacturer. His industry experience also includes experience as portfolio manager of a large business unit with P&L responsibility for a $500M/year division.
Rich has supported some of the world’s largest companies with developing ESG strategies, evaluating climate-related risk, and navigating complex, multi-national reporting requirements. He leads engagements on sustainability reporting covering a range of sustainability topics and metrics, with an emphasis on helping clients develop processes and controls to produce investment grade sustainability/ESG disclosures. Rich has assisted numerous firms with calculating and developing science-based and other GHG reduction targets and help prepare the underlying data for transparent reporting. He was a technical contributor to the TCFD framework and helps shape PwC’s position on climate regulation and GHG emissions reporting. Rich is also an adjunct lecturer at Harvard University, teaching classes on GHG emissions, ESG reporting and climate change; he is the founder of the Boston Area Sustainability Group and speaks and writes frequently on sustainability issues.
