Richard Hochron
Richard Hochron is an Executive Director, and currently Head of Data Platforms and Architecture for Firmwide Innovation at Morgan Stanley. He is responsible for identifying transformative and disruptive technologies and themes to help drive strategic outcomes for the Firm. Richard joined Morgan Stanley in 2015 and has covered many technologies including AI/ML, Developer tooling, Finance Technology, and Data related platforms. Previously, Richard served as Chief Technology officer of Direct Edge a large equities exchange (now part of CBOE) where he was responsible for all aspects of the exchanges’ application development and engineering activities and was responsible for growing and maturing the platform into two major stock exchanges.
Prior to serving as CTO of Direct Edge, Richard served as Head of Software Development of Direct Edge where he successfully scaled the software and team to deal with the large growth the company was experiencing in 2007. Prior to this Richard held several senior software development roles at Knight capital markets, Domestic Securities, and On2.com. Richard holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Johns Hopkins University and a Masters of Science degree in Computer Science from the Stevens Institute of Technology.
