Sonny Saksena, CAIA

Sonny is the CIO for Maihar, a fifteen-year-old private investment office that pursues strategic partnerships, capital allocations, and co-investments globally. FY 2024 focus includes secondary directs, infrastructure direct/co-invests, and public markets arbitrage strategies. Sonny focuses on generating uncorrelated returns by incorporating innovative return streams and pragmatic risk management.  Sonny’s investment expertise includes asset allocation, manager selection, portfolio construction, risk management, synthetic expense management, and restructurings. Sonny has directed multi-manager portfolios, reviewed/evaluated over 500 HF/PE/VC investment managers, and assessed investment opportunities globally.

Previous experience includes, head of the US for one of the oldest FoHFs in Europe and being a Partner with IBM/PwC Management Consulting, where he specialized in strategy, cost reduction, and business transformations. He combines a unique background of extensive strategic advisory to Fortune 50 companies (AT&T, Alcatel/Lucent, Comcast, and IBM) with principal investing. He has a first-rate education (Harvard, JEC, MIT, and Rollins) and received multiple honors and awards.
