Soo Chuen Tan

Soo Chuen Tan is President of Discerene Group LP, a private investment partnership that invests globally on behalf of several philosophically aligned investors, including endowments, foundations, and families, pursuing a fundamental, contrarian, long-term value investing philosophy. Before founding the Firm, Soo Chuen was a Partner and Managing Director at Deccan Value Advisors and prior to that worked at the Baupost Group, Halcyon Asset Management, and McKinsey & Company.  Soo Chuen has a Master of Business Administration (high distinction) degree from Harvard Business School, where he was a George F. Baker Scholar, and a Bachelor/Master of Arts (double first class honors) degree in Law/Jurisprudence from Oxford University, where he won the Martin Wronker University Prize for graduating first in his class.
