Starling joined Revolution in 2018 to oversee a new real estate platform focused on the firm’s Rise of the Rest thesis. This strategy will complement the firm’s Rise of the Rest Seed Fund and support a view that the U.S. is entering a new era for entrepreneurship, where high-growth companies can now start and scale anywhere – not just in a few coastal cities. Focusing on a collection of markets that provide both a desirable quality of life and affordable cost of living, the Rise of the Rest Real Estate platform seeks to partner with key stakeholders and enhance each market’s ecosystem by creating desirable long-term properties.  From 2007-2018, Mr. Cousley served as a Managing Director in Hines’ New York office, where he oversaw a variety of value-add and core-plus initiatives as a member of Hines’ investment management platform. From 2004-2007, he served as a Vice President and Fund Manager with Parkway Properties, Inc. A native of Oxford, MS, he received Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in accountancy from the University of Mississippi, as well as an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is a CFA charterholder.
